MRI Technology

Louisville Bone & Joint Specialists, PSC uses the Hitachi AIRIS II MRI scanner with confidence because of its proven reliability in providing high quality images. Since first popularizing the concept of Open MRI over a decade ago, Hitachi has continued to provide patients with magnetic resonance imaging systems that provide cutting-edge technology. Due to our commitment to the best possible patient care, our MRI has remained accredited through the most widely nationally-recognized accrediting organization, the American College of Radiology (ACR). Accreditation through the ACR is awarded after an intensive review to ensure the facility meets or exceeds quality assurance and safety guidelines according to national standards. Facilities must undergo review for accreditation every three years. Many insurance carriers now require MRI studies be performed at accredited facilities.

All MRI images taken at Louisville Bone & Joint Specialists, PSC are produced by technicians experienced in MR imaging and are read by a board certified radiologist (this service is billed separately by the radiologist). Results are usually available within 24 hours.

Our MRI is open 6 am-5 pm Monday-Thursday, 6 am-4 pm on Friday, and 7 am-2 pm on Saturday.
